Chris Jewell, Tennis Convenor said, ‘The teams overall had a very good year again with our Veteran men’s 2nd team also winning promotion and our Veterans’ 1st vets team just missing out on promotion 5 years in a row. Congratulations go to our winners and to all our teams; we plan to have quite a number of additional competitions in 2016 which is the 125th anniversary of the setting up of tennis at the Ardgowan Club.’

Cath & Chris

For those who do not know her, Cath was the first lady umpire at Wimbledon's Centre Court and here she is with Chris Evert as well many other stars in a recent Greenock Telegraph article and a fairly recent 'selfie' she was in as part of a visit to her by Chris Jewell, visits which always turned out to be great fun in one way or another. Cath's funeral has taken place privately. We shall miss her.
