Club Dinner 2014

ARDGOWAN Club recently held their 2014 annual dinner, enjoying an evening of laughter and song.

Speakers were introduced by club President Gilbert McCracken. He proposed a toast to the ‘House of Ardgowan’ and the reply given by Sir Ludovic Shaw Stewart. Sir Ludovic is patron of the Greenock club which celebrates its 175th anniversary in 2016.

Those present were entertained by singers Alan and Polly Beck.

Principal speaker, former Morton player and manager, Allan McGraw gave the gathering an insight into football with his witty stories.

Provost Robert Moran proposed the toast to the ‘Ardgowan Club’.

The toast to ‘Kindred Clubs’ was proposed by Steven Houston, a Past President of the club, and the reply given by Robert Harron, President of the Greenock and District Bowling Association.

Dougie Warnock, Senior Vice President rounded off the evening with the’ Vote of Thanks’ before the singing of Auld Lang Syne led by Alan Beck.
